Frequently Asked Questions
Who uses these bathrooms?
The bathrooms were originally designed for people with mobility issues who need temporary bathroom solutions. We now have customers from many backgrounds including Builders, ACC, Ministry of Health, and private people who are having their bathroom renovated.
Where can you put these bathrooms?
Because the bathrooms are mobile, they can be positioned in most people’s back yards. We are able to get the unit into a very tight/precise space, and we use stabilisers if there is an uneven area. If you think you might have a tricky space, contact us and we'll let you know what we can do for you.
Is the bathroom fully operational?
Yes. The bathroom provides hot and cold water to both the shower and handbasin, and has a flushable toilet system with no holding cassettes to change.
How big is the bathroom?
The bathroom is 1.8 meters wide by 3 meters long, and 2.4 meters high. This size allows us to get the best use of space on the inside, meaning you never have to feel cramped up.
How long can I have the bathroom?
You may hire a unit for as long as you need. We have a 7 day minimum hire to ensure our limited units go to those who need them most.
Who looks after the bathroom once it is installed?
Every 6 weeks the bathroom will be cleaned and the gas bottle refilled. A customer service person will be contactable on 078390089 if you require any assistance.
How will I get in and out of the bathroom in my wheelchair?
A two-meter ramp will be provided by LOUNA Mobile Bathrooms for wheelchair accessibility. If you require more complex ramping needs, we work closely with Able Axcess who will be able to help create a perfect solution for you.
Do the bathrooms need to be fixed down?
No. Our units do lower down once in place, but do not need to be fixed as they are temporary. A qualified builder will set the bathroom up on your site.
What disability equipment comes with the bathroom?
All bathrooms have:
- A disability height toilet with a handrail
- A level entry shower with handrails
- Adjustable-height basins for wheelchair users
- Anti-slip flooring
- Wheelchair access doorways (910mm clear opening)
- A 2-meter ramp into the unit.
The bathrooms have outdoor lights for night-time access, a heater, and a fan for condensation. An Occupational therapist will provide any equipment you may need such as a shower stool or over-toilet frame.
How long will it take to install?
Once the purchase order or acceptance of quote has been processed the bathroom can be installed within 24 hours in the Waikato and 48 hours out of the Waikato region (all subject to availability).
How do I get a Quote?
